More pictures....

Okay so now we are going to post about 1000 pictures from our 4 days in Cinque Terre. We stayed in Riomaggiore, spent a day on the beach, and hiked to all five towns:Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manorola and Riomaggiore. We also endulged in some crepes with nutella and washed it down with some Moscato.

Pictures

Here are some pictures from Montepulciano. Katie and I only spent one night there so there arent that many pictures, but hopefully you will enjoy the few that we have to share with you :)

Katie and I on our journey to Cinque Terre...

"AHHHH....MY LEGS HURT!!!"

That would be what we said pretty much all day long today and are still saying...

Katie and I got up this morning at 6:00 and headed over to Montorossa where we began our 10k hike through all 5 towns. We had a great time but we wanted to collapse during some of the straight stairs sections. We made it through the whole hike even though at time we considered getting on the train in the next town. WE RULE!!

Going to the beach tomorrow then in the afternoon we are training it over to Bergamo where we will fly out of to Poland on the 6th. We should have internet in Poland which means on the 6th night, or 6th morning for you, we will be loading tons and tons of pictures.

See you all soon!! <3

After our 9 hour journey we made it to Riomaggiore

Okay, so this blog is going to be quick and numbered...

1. We made it safely to Montepulciano the other day after just a few hour journey from Cortona. We loved Montepulciano. We stayed right in Piazza Grande which was beautiful. We took a walk around the small town, tasted some wine, ate some delicious food. I got pasta that was freshly made and soooo yummy :) We went to bed early there since the town was quite small and because we knew we had a long day of traveling to Riomaggiore the next morning.

2. We made it Riomaggiore, the Italian Riveria in Cinque Terre, yesterday at about 4:00pm. We left Montepulciano at 7:00 am and traveled by shuttle, autobus, and 4 trains. Needless to say that by the time we got here we were beyond the Websters definition of exhausted. We pretty much sat in our apartment in the air conditioning, showered, ate some pasta and panna cotta and a cappuccino and then hit the hay.

3. umm...short story about our journey to Riomaggiore, you might need to use your imagination for this one, but we laughed so hard I have to share it with you. Katie and I are riding the train from Chusi to Firenze when we look out the window and see this OLD FAT HAIRY man running/jogging beside the train wearing TIGHT METALLIC BLUE SPANDEX short with no shirt on and to add fuel to the fire he was bald on top with a long silver braided pony. We were dying laughing, so much so we couldnt talk or breath or stop crying. It was amazing!

4. We woke up this morning, trained it to Vernazza (one of the 5 town, hence cinque) and ate an AMERICAN breakfast, then trained it over to Montorosso (another one of the towns) where we relaxed on the beach for a bit. About 2 hours into laying on the beach our ADHD kicked in and we felt the need to go some place else. So we trained it back to Vernazza where we grabbed some cinnamin gelato and layed on the beach some more.

5. Short story about the beach in Vernazza. Katie and I are laying there minding our own business when Katie looks at me and saying "someone just threw something at me" and I was like " yeah okay whatever Kate." Then Katie starts laughing and says "that lady right there is pointing to her son." I look over and there is this old Italian mom there with her kids and she mouths "I did it" and starts enthusiastically pointing to her young Italian son, who by the way is obviously embarrassed and totally blushing. It was the most hysterical thing ever! We could not stop laughing. Then as we were packing up our thing his sister (Katies new sister-in-law) walks by and says "Ciao" like we are long time friends.

6. Tomorrow we are waking up at 5:30am to watch the 6:00 train to Montorosso where we are going to begin the 7 mile hike, mostly up stairs, through all 5 towns and end up in our town Riomaggiore, where we will probably pass out from exhaustion from the heat.

7. We are going to Bergamo, just to sleep because it is near the airport, on the 5th so that we can fly to Poland on the 6th. We will be in Poland until the 10th and then fly home on the 11th.

8. We are taking lots and lots of pictures but we dont have free internet here and the internet cafe is expensive and wont let people load pictures. Hopefully on the 5th when we are in Bergamo or the 6th when we get to Poland we will be able to load some up.

9. Only 7 more days of travel, which means only 6 more days worth of posting. Hope you all find something way more worthwhile to do with your time then read about 2 jackasses wandering Europe.

10. We love you all :)

Due Doppio Cappuccini

Today was our last day in Cortona and we spend it relaxing and doing whatever we pleased. We slept in a little. Well Katie slept until 9 and I woke up at 8:00 when Jul called me to say goodnight :)

Once we got up we went down to the bar to get our due doppio cappuccini and brioche. We sat in the piazza for two hours watching the moms with strollers with kids eating gelato for breakfast. After breakfast we toured the town. We walked up the steep, steep hills, saw multiple little churches, climbed up a million steps and ventured through a bunch of little streets and alleyways all the while singing Calvary Church songs.

After our expedition we grabbed a bit to eat at a little cafe and headed in for siesta. Then, this evening we walked the town a little and eat dinner at the same place we ate lunch the first day. They had a great Tuscan vegatable soup. After dinner Katie and I spotted through a little archway the sunsetting so we hightailed it over to the edge of town to see it. It was beautiful. We took tons of pictures so I am not even going to try to describe it. Just see for yourself below.

Tomorrow morning Katie and I are headed to Montepulciano for one night and then off to Cinque Terre again. I'm not sure if we will have internet so this might be the last update for a few days.

Hope you all are having a great summer. We will be home in 10 days to share more pictures and stories. We can't wait.
