Ciao,
Wow am I glad I decided to stay in last night and get some sleep cause there was a lot of drama. Tara, Kaley and Lauren came in around 4:30 and did not know where Noelle and Christina were. Around 5:00 they found out that they were at some of their Italian friends house. Christina didn’t make it into the club because she got sick (she is not a big drinker like me so… we all know how that goes) and Noelle found her outside with their friends and they got a ride back to someone’s house and slept there. Noelle woke up at 8:00 with her eyes swollen shut and ended up at an Italian hospital, since it is public healthcare it took her and Kaley all day to be seen by a doctor. It ended up she only had pink eye so we are disinfecting like crazy since there are 6 of us in Tara’s 46 square meter apartment. With all the people going in and out and not getting much sleep Tara, Lauren and Christina wanted to sleep in and I had taken some Benadryl the night before so I was knocked out so we all slept in until around 10:30. Tara made some foccacia and eggs (everything tastes better here) then Tara and I headed downtown for some more sight seeing/eating!! The coolest thing is just how much there is to see while walking from place to place. Even if it is not really a “sight seeing” thing there are still “sights” everywhere. After walking around a bit, Tara took me to Luini, this famous little shop, to get a panzerotto. It was so good. I’m not sure what Katie is going to like here to eat cause most things come with cheese (Don’t worry Katie I already asked Tara how to say “without cheese” for you ). I on the other hand LOVE cheese, however my ass hates it! After sitting on the curb in this little alley eating my panzerotto, we went to La Rinascente, which is similar to Neiman Marcus. On the top floor they have a gourmet grocery store/restaurant that over looks the Piazza del Duomo. The groceries were really cool to look at. Well I guess I just think everything is really cool to look at. But it was cool to see all the different types of pasta, sauces, oils, vinegars and chocolates. I am totally bringing home some good oil, vinegar and obviously some chocolate. Oh and I might slightly be obsessed with truffle oil, it goes great on anything and it just smells so good. After walking around for a few hours Tara and I went back to the apartment and got ready for dinner. Tara, Lauren, Christina and I met their friend Gretchen at their favorite restaurant L’Oca Guivia. This time I got ravioli with spinach and ricotta in a sage butter sauce. Once again, my meal was amazing. We walked home after dinner and packed up our suitcases to head off to Florence tomorrow for our cooking class! I’m excited-maybe I will learn to like cooking. I am having so much fun.
Buona notte
P.S. I totally forgot how giggly 6 girls can get late at night before going to bed.
