Yogurt and Honey? Yes, please.

Today is our first full day in Santorini and WOW is it amazing! We arrived late last night after a full day in Athens and then a REALLY choppy 4 hour ferry ride. First things first, yesterday in Athens was jam packed with sight seeing. Luckily, there was a nice breeze which made seeing all the ancient sights much more enjoyable! We started in the morning with an amazing stop at STARBUCKS!! ( I have been Starbucks deprived in Italy) and then we headed up and over to the Acropolis. That was amazing, but unfortunately for Katie and I who don’t know much about Ancient Greece, we didn’t do a tour. It was still amazing to see but we would have enjoyed it and learned way more with a tour guide. Next time!! After spending a few hours up on the Acropolis we went to Mars Hill where the Apostle Paul gave a speech to convert Greeks. There are a set of REALLY slippery marble steps and then regular steps to climb up, we chose the first option and Tara and Katie made it to the top but chickened out for the climb down. Not me, I completed the pilgrimage! After climbing Mars Hill we wondered down the southern side of the Acropolis, around the Theatre of Dionysus, and then over to the Temple of Olympian Zeus. The Temple was all of our favorites, which was weird because it isn’t the first thing that most people make their way over to see. The pillars were huge- 56 feet tall! It was such a sight to see!!! After grabbing some more delish Greek food we got our luggage and headed to the port to catch our ferry to Santorini. The ferry was a bit late and VERY choppy. Thank God Katie and I took Dramamine cause there were a few people who were puking on the boat. It was really windy yesterday and today.
Now for our update on Santorini. When we arrived here our hotel picked us up and drove us to the hotel in Kamari Beach, which is ADORABLE! We pretty much went straight to bed. This morning we ate yogurt and honey…sooo sooo sooo good!!! Then we went to the pool all day. The beach is really pretty but very salty so we stayed by the pool most of the day. Katie and I took an amazing nap this afternoon and then we all walked down to the boardwalk. Kamari Beach is really cute. We ate dinner at this little restaurant on the boardwalk. We are going to try to get to bed early tonight because we are planning on going on an excursion of Santorini tomorrow.

We will update you some more soon! We miss you all.

P.S. My Italian cell phone will not let me make out going calls in Greece but I can get incoming calls so….call us!!!
