Praha, CZ

So I know we said that we were going to go out to find some authentic Czech cuisine but once we got outside and were freezing we decided to grab anything that looked good near the metro station. That ended up, sadly, being T.G.I. Friday’s. I know, seriously embarrassing. But in our defense, the tomato soup was delicious and we are unbelievably tired of pasta and/or Greek salads. A little bit of home is necessary here and there, don’t you agree? (that is for you daddy…a little Tommy Hopkins).

After we scarfed down our soup (and sando!) we braved the freezing cold weather and tried to see as much of that part of town as possible. We hardly made it 50 feet when saw a huge red sign calling our names- H&M. Oh how we love shopping and oh how we love H&M and oh how we were freezing. We wandered around the store searching and converting Czech Korunas and Euros into American dollars until we found something somewhat warm and totally adorable. We got matching grey and white striped grandpa-ish sweaters.

This part of town that we were in is more or less the larger city center and the right side of the Charles River, near Stare Mesto, Josefov and Old Town. It is very pretty but not quite what we were expecting. It reminded me of Munich, Germany a bit. Which I liked a lot but did not love. So… since this part of Prague wasn’t what we were necessarily looking for and it was getting dark and we were shivering in our not so broken in Greek sandals, we decided to get back on the metro and head to our side of town to climb into bed and read the books which have been practically glued to our noses (Katie is now reading the book of the summer – Everyone Worth Knowing by Lauren Weisberger, the author of the Devil Wears Prada. It was originally Christina’s book and went through all of the roommates and then I read it in one day by the pool in Santorini, Tara read it in Mykonos and now Katie is chuckling to herself from it in Prague. I suggest you all run out and read it immediately!).

Okay, well that is all that happened today. Nothing to fantasticly exciting or amazing. We are just taking in each moment as they come and are trying to live as much in the present as possible, trying to forget what has been engrained in us through society since we were born---think about the future.

Oh yeah and for those of you who are still wondering what I am going to do when I get home, you know, like for a job or career or something like that. I'll answer that for you. I don't know yet and I am still deleting all the emails that Annenberg is sending me about job postings. I have 3 years before interest starts to add to my student loan, which sounds to me like I have somewhere around 3 years to figure out what I am going to do. So until then, I am going to relax and enjoy sipping cappucini whenever and wherever I can, and I suggest you do the same :)

Until tomorrow....

Peace out Girl Scout
